Urban League Pikes Peak Region, Inc

WELCOME TO THE URBAN LEAGUE OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION

Our Vision:We envision a Pikes Peak Region where significant disparities in education, employment, health, housing, and youth development have been eliminated.

Our Logo: The circle with the equal sign represents the National Urban League movement’s strong commitment to equality for all people.

Our Future: The Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region is currently undergoing a assessment and restructuring focused on its programs and services. The assessment covers effective community outreach, new initiatives, program evaluation, and funding sustainability.

The Opportunity Compact is a comprehensive set of principles and policy recommendations designed to empower all Americans to be full participants in the economic and social mainstream of this nation. The Compact outlines the main recommendations of the National Urban League in four major areas (the Opportunity to Thrive, to Earn, to Own and to Prosper), and provides research that supports these recommendations.

Leadership Transition Update

The Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region has engaged Transition Leadership, LLC to serve the organization on a temporary basis and under the oversight and direction of Board Vice Chair Kathryn Young and her team. Transition Leadership specializes in providing on-the-ground operations management while concurrently assessing organizational needs during periods of transition in leadership.  Under Ms. Young's direction, Transition Leadership's services will afford the Board of Directors the time needed to conduct a thorough and deliberate search for the organization's new President/CEO, and form a search committee consisting of community members and members of the board.

We expect to formally post the President/CEO position within the next week. Application materials will be available on this website under the Employment tab and at the Urban League offices.

As you know, the Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region has always been a community-based movement devoted to empowering minorities and the disadvantaged in order to positively change lives. Our affiliate's 45-year history speaks volumes to its strength in community over any one individual. We are proud of our local affiliate and its accomplishments and the dedicated efforts of the staff. Rest assured that the organization will continue to support our community with its many services and programs, and will continue to refine the ways in which it can most effectively provide for the community's needs.

We appreciate your continued support of this worthwhile organization.
